Faith-Based Counseling in The Woodlands

You don't have to choose between your faith and your mental health.

For many people, faith is a part of how they understand suffering, hope, relationships, forgiveness, purpose, and healing. If your Christian faith is an important part of your life, we believe it deserves space in the counseling room, too. We offer evidence-based counseling that honors your faith, on your terms, in person in The Woodlands, and virtually for anyone in the state of Texas.

Our Approach to Faith-Based Counseling

Your Faith Is Part of Your Story

Your faith is one part of who you are, and we welcome it into counseling when it's important to you. We don't ask you to compartmentalize your spiritual life from the rest of your experiences.

Client-Led Integration

Every client wants something different. Some choose to incorporate prayer or discuss Scripture. Others simply appreciate working with a counselor who understands their worldview. Together, we'll determine what feels supportive for you.

Evidence-Based Counseling

We are licensed mental health professionals who use evidence-based therapeutic approaches. Faith doesn't replace good clinical care—it becomes one aspect of understanding and supporting the whole person.

Space for Spiritual Questions

Faith isn't always simple. Whether you're wrestling with doubt, disappointment, unanswered prayers, church hurt, or difficult questions about God, counseling offers a safe place to explore those experiences without judgment.

Counseling That Honors Your Values

Our goal isn't to tell you what to believe. It's to understand the values, beliefs, and convictions that shape your life and thoughtfully consider them throughout the counseling process.

Whole-Person Care

Mental health doesn't exist in isolation. We consider the emotional, relational, physical, and spiritual aspects of your life while tailoring counseling to your unique needs and goals.

What Does Faith-Based Counseling Mean?

Faith-based counseling doesn't mean every session includes prayer or Bible study, nor does it mean your counselor serves as your pastor. Our role is different.

Our role is to provide professional mental health counseling while recognizing that your faith may be an important part of how you make meaning of your experiences. Rather than asking you to separate your beliefs from the rest of your life, we create space for them when they are meaningful to you.

Some clients choose to regularly discuss their faith. Others rarely bring it up. Both approaches are completely appropriate because counseling is tailored to your goals. Common reasons people seek faith-based counseling include anxiety and worry, grief and loss, marriage and family struggles, life transitions, trauma, spiritual questions and church hurt.
