Empowering Change: Your Journey to Healing and Wellness

The decision to enter counseling is a big step in your individual growth journey, and it's natural to feel unsure about what comes next. It can feel like there are so many things to take into consideration. My goal is to meet you where you are and collaborate with you to create a counseling experience that will be most beneficial to you. Everyday life can be overwhelming. We each engage with stressful situations everyday and even the most routine tasks have a way of surprising us, building up, and becoming burdens. Together, we’ll focus on building tools and insights that not only support you in our sessions but also empower you to navigate and enrich your everyday life.

My Passion and Expertise

I have a Masters of Arts Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The University of Oklahoma, a Masters of Arts Degree in Psychology from Houston Baptist University, and a Bachelors of Science Degree in Neuroscience from Baylor University. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) that we can use for trauma, anxiety, phobias, and the anticipation of future events. Further, I also have experience working with military veterans engaging with the VA as well as those who have experienced moral injury and traumatic brain injuries.

Counseling for Teens and Young Adults
Adolescence can be a confusing and overwhelming time, for both teens and their families. Whether you're navigating anxiety, school stress, chronic illness, values, friendships, college or future life decisions, family dynamics, or big emotions that feel hard to manage, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

I work with teens and young adults to create a space where they feel heard, respected, and not judged. Together, we focus on building emotional awareness, coping skills, and confidence so they can better understand themselves and move through life with more clarity and resilience.

I also collaborate with parents when appropriate, helping them better understand and support their teen while respecting the teen’s need for a safe and confidential space.

Counseling for Adults

Other special interests include working with veterans, individuals dealing with chronic health issues, those in care-giving roles, experiencing life changes, and grief. Grief is a universal and ever-present experience that we all face in personal ways. In my office, we can recognize the gap that grief creates and collaboratively navigate a new normal. We can find a neutral acceptance, a sense of gratitude, and an awareness of conflicting thoughts and emotions.

If you'd like to incorporate your faith, I am happy to engage in faith-based counseling on your terms.

What to Expect in Session

In our work together, you can expect curiosity, encouragement, and challenge as we identify long-standing patterns, uncover what’s been holding you back, and move toward meaningful change. My approach to counseling is eclectic, drawing from a variety of therapeutic methods based on your unique experiences and needs. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to partner with you in exploring the areas you’d like to grow, offering support as you process old wounds, shift perspectives, and embrace new possibilities. With compassion as our foundation, we can navigate challenging emotions together and open space for the deeper understanding and growth that allows you to intentionally shape the next chapter of your life.
