Empowering Change: Your Journey to Healing and Wellness

I believe counseling is less about “fixing” yourself and more about understanding yourself with a little more compassion. You are a whole person, shaped by your experiences, relationships, beliefs, values, and the things you’ve been through. My role isn’t to tell you who you should be or give you a list of things to fix. It’s to meet you where you are, listen without judgment, and work alongside you to better understand what’s going on and what you want moving forward.

Together, we’ll get curious about the patterns, thoughts, emotions, and experiences that may be keeping you stuck. We’ll also pay attention to your strengths, what matters most to you, and the kind of life you want to create. My hope is that therapy becomes a place where you can feel understood, reconnect with yourself, and become more confident in the choices you’re making.

Educational Background and Specialized Training

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Human Services and my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University—Go Bearkats! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Texas.

My clinical interests include anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, postpartum and motherhood experiences, identity changes, and repetitive or intrusive thoughts. I’m especially passionate about supporting women through seasons of transition and change. Pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, grief, trauma, changes in relationships, or simply realizing that the way you’ve been living no longer feels like it fits can bring up a lot of complicated emotions.

Sometimes you may feel like you’re supposed to be happy, grateful, or “fine” while internally you’re struggling to make sense of everything. Other times, you may not even know exactly what feels wrong, you just know that something needs to change. You don’t have to have the perfect words for what you’re experiencing. We can figure it out together.

We can incorporate faith-based counseling on your terms if that feels right for you.

What to Expect in Session

There really isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. And I don’t believe there should be.

Some sessions might involve talking through something that happened that week. Other sessions might involve looking more closely at where a pattern came from, working through a difficult experience, challenging an unhelpful belief, learning practical coping skills, or simply having a space where you don’t have to hold everything together.

I focus on getting to know you - your story, your experiences, your patterns, your relationships, and what matters most to you. From there, we can use approaches and tools that fit your individual needs rather than trying to force you into a certain way of doing therapy.

I believe the relationship between therapist and client matters. I want our work to feel collaborative, comfortable, purposeful and not like you’re sitting across from someone who is simply taking notes and waiting for you to figure things out.

You can expect warmth, honesty, curiosity, and the occasional gentle challenge when I think it may help you see something from a different perspective. Most importantly, you get to be a real person in the room. You don’t have to show up with everything figured out.

We May Be a Good Fit If...

    • You are a woman navigating a major life transition and trying to figure out who you are in this new season.
    • You are a new or expecting mom struggling with the emotional side of pregnancy, postpartum, motherhood, or changes in your sense of identity.
    • You are someone experiencing anxiety, overthinking, or repetitive thoughts.
    • You are someone working through grief or loss and finding that there isn’t a clear timeline for when you’re “supposed” to feel better.
    • You are a person who has experienced trauma and wants to understand how it continues to affect the way you think, feel, relate, or see yourself.
    • You are someone who feels stuck and wants support finding more balance, clarity, and direction.
    • You are someone who feels disconnected from yourself and wants to better understand your emotions, patterns, and needs.
    • You are someone who is ready to grow, become more self-aware, and create meaningful change in their life.

My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable being honest, asking questions, and showing up as yourself. Wherever you are in your journey, we can start there.
